Tell us about a subject you enjoy studying

 Hi bloggers!, today I will talk about a subject that I like to study in this second semester of my career  Chemestry and Pharmacy , this is: analytical chemistry. 

In analytical chemistry we study the chemical composition of a material or sample, using different laboratory methods. This is divided into quantitative analytical chemistry and qualitative analytical chemistry.

 

I like this subject because it requires a lot of chemical and mathematical analysis. Also, the planning allows students to do the controls and tests in adequate time. 

In this subject I have learned chemical equilibrium in quantitative and qualitative analysis; in the latter, we also learned to identify anions and cations in a sample. And until recently, acid-base volumetry.

I thought it would be easier, but I realized that, personally, I need more time to perform the calculations well and understand the explanations of the teachers. However, I like it and if I have to make an effort, I will do it.

How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place

 

Taking care of people's health is a great challenge for medicine and science. Chemistry and Pharmacy influence this world , HOW? By developing effective medicines, carrying out studies, working to obtain good results in the application of medicinal treatments, and even influencing a very important area nowadays: the cosmetic area.

As a future professional of this career I can acquire the necessary knowledge in the area of my choice, to be a professional who works ethically and responsibly for the health of people and contributing to the future challenges of medicine.

Our world needs good science researchers, we need medicines for the different diseases of the population, we need people to develop and study these medicines in laboratories. All this and much more can bring chemistry and pharmacy for the health of people, working together with other health professionals  and so the world will be better.

A Photo and It's Story

Sometimes very funny situations happen at inopportune moments and thanks to a camera you can capture it. 

The photograph I will show you is simply epic and has a great meaning, because it happens in an exciting moment for my family. The protagonist is a cat and that makes me more interested in it.

It happens in September 2018, at my cousin's wedding. The wedding was outdoors, I was at the back of the ceremony, when I see a cat standing on the carpet. The cat was watching everything, maybe he wanted to oppose the wedding hahaha, it was very funny and I captured the precise moment with this cute photo. 

Then the cat was sunbathing and rolling around on the carpet. The little cat got all my attention, he was so cute. After the ceremony I never saw him again. Goodbye little cat, I will remember you!

A Meal or Food You Really Like

"Chilean Humitas"

  A food that I really like is the humita, especially the chilean preparation.

It is a meal based on corn, which can be accompanied with tomato salad, with sugar, etc.

Its preparation consists of a "corn paste" with different ingredients such as onions, colored chili, milk, butter, basil, among others, which is wrapped with corn husks and tied with a kitchen string, and then boiled in water.

I like them because their flavor is delicious and their texture is soft, I also love the combination of eating them with sugar and tomato.

Humitas are low in calories, but it depends on how much you eat and how much sugar you add. To take care of your health you should accompany them with water and eat an adequate portion, at an appropriate time.

My Favourite Piece Of Technology

Today I'm going to talk to you about my favourite piece of technology: my cell phone.

It is something that you can take everywhere and use whenever you want and I like that.

The model of my cell phone is Lg Qstylus + and it has a pencil, I always use it to take notes, watch videos, search for information and spend time on social networks.

My cell phone affects my life in a positive way, it helps me for college because my computer is not very fast.

I recommend using it since it is multidynamic, fast and also brings a pencil for notes. But it is important to know that LG will no longer make cell phones. This is very sad.

Why Did I Choose My Major?

Hi everyone!, I study chemistry and pharmacy. I chose this major because I wanted to help the health of people and animals through medicines and differents treadmeans.

When I was a child, my dream job was to be a merchant. I liked to pretend that I was selling different things like fruits, vegetables, clothes, etc., and in my little mind that was a lot of fun. I also wanted to be a supermarket cashier. Everything that has to do with money hahaha

If I wouldn't study Chemistry and Pharmacy, I would study: veterinary medicine or marine biology. 

But I really like chemistry, and I loved the Chemistry and Pharmacy labor field, so I decided that was the best choise

My experience at the university has been very routine and exhausting, but my classmates and my special boy help me to continue.
